Orthodontics or
"braces" is a process of moving teeth
into their proper position by using tiny forces
such as wires, elastics, springs, palatal expanders
etc. Orthodontics will align the teeth properly
to improve the cosmetics, bite, and the ability
for the patient to maintain proper oral hygiene.
An improper bite can cause TMJ (temporomandibular
joint) problems. Crooked teeth, in addition
to not giving a pleasing appearance, can contribute
to periodontal (gum) disease in later life due
the difficulty for the patient to clean adequately.
Now we have a very cosmetic way of moving teeth.
No one will know that you are wearing "braces".
The process is called "Invisalign".
It is accomplished with a set of clear trays
or "aligners" that are worn by the
patient over a period of time in order to move
teeth. Ask us about a free consultation to determine
whether you are an Invisalign candidate.
