Dr. Jang is originally from Busan, Korea. After moving to the United States, he participated his first medical mission trip which allowed him to open his eyes and dedicate his life to dentistry. With this passion in mind, he went on to study Neurobiology and physiology at the University of Maryland and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery, graduating with multiple distinctions and scholarship awards from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Jang served his residency in pediatric dentistry, gaining experience in multiple full mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia at the UMMS hospital, dental treatment under oral sedation, vital pulp therapy, SSC restoration and pediatric dental emergencies treatments. This intense training program and has prepared him to serve a wide age range of dental patients with confidence and expertise.
In addition to his residency and hospital experience, Dr. Jang also held an externship at Shady Grove gaining firsthand clinical experience, a Pediatric Observership and Prosthodontist Observership with several dentist both in Maryland and Massachusetts, and has been a dental assistant! His medical mission trips have sent him to countries such as Belize, Guatemala, Gambia, Haiti, and Peru were he aided in underserved neighborhoods. He genuinely believes that giving back to the community is a sworn duty to any medical professional.
Having come from Busan, Korea – also known as the “City of Baseball” – Dr. Jang is an avid baseball fan! He cheers for both his hometown team (Go, Busan Giants!) and the Orioles (Go, O’s!). He’s such a big fan that every year his three children take their yearly school pictures in Busan Giants jerseys without missing a single year!
Everyday Dr. Jang brings his caring nature to work and aims to treat people with the reverence and dedication they deserve. He understands that his role as a dentist is not only to be proficient for his patients but also to contribute in a broader scope to the community. With his care and compassion for communities near and far, we are glad to have him on our team!
